TITTLE: Traffic signals

TOPIC: Meaning on the traffic signals

AGE OR GRADE LEVEL: 4 the grade

GOAL OF THE LESSON: Pupils should be meeting with the traffic signals, to know, how they should use them in practice. Also they should make a difference between them, to know the kind of traffic signals and how they will properly and safely go on the street.

AUTHENTIC PROBLEM: My friend likes to take a driving license but she doesn’t now the basic traffic signals. Can we do something for her?

DESCRIPTION FOR THE LESSON: First what we can do is to take a walk through the center of the city. There we will go with a leader. There one pupil should shoot the walk with a camera. The other pupils should careful listen the meaning on the traffic signals for what the leader will talk about. The next day we are going to meet in the classroom. There we will see the snapshot and after that we will discuss about that. After the discussion they should make brochures and the flyers.

WHAT TYPE OF TECHNOLOGIES WILL BE USED? I will group the pupils in 8 gropes, and they should make a brochure and including the pictures from the walk. After that, they will present the brochures and all of the pupils’ mast makes a flyer about one traffic signals. There must be 28 different traffic signals. Those flyers will be for my friend.

HOW YOU WILL ECALOUATE THE STUDENT’S LEARNING? I have prepared papers, before, in which there are a situations in the traffic. Pupils must to solve those situations. These are like the tests for the driving license. If they are properly solved, I will know that the pupils get the meaning about traffic signals.
